The first project meeting was held on 20-22 November 2006 in Green Park Hotel, Taksim, Istanbul. In the opening day, Samim Saner the General Manager of Kalite Sistem Laboratories Group declared that they were delighted to have the responsibility of training of the “Specialist” on the Food Safety issue which is really important. The content of the project is not only first program in Turkey but also in Europe.
Frédéric Misrahi, Internal Market Sector Manager, European Commission Delegation to Turkey underlined that F4ST will be the first integrated training program on all food safety measures, on EU regulations and on quality management in the whole food chain . He also believes that the European Community will be beneficiary of the project results, since 1500 trainee will be trained during the project lifetime.
Paul Besseling (Précon Food Management BV -Précon); Christina Nanou (Thessaloniki Technology Park-TTP); Dr. Marta Hernandez Perez (Agrarian Technological Institute of Castilla and Leon-ITACYL); Professor Eunice Taylor (The International Centre for HACCP Innovation -ICHI); and Murat Üngün (Turkish Food Safety Association-GGD) presented their organizations and explained the need for F4ST and its importance in partner’s countries.
Cem Atacýk (Advancity-AdV), showed the demonstration of F4ST e-learning program. Perihan Yolcu Ömerođlu and Ayţe Karadađ (Kalite Sistem Laboratories Group) presented the F4ST starting from pre-proposal stage to final work plan.
Nerma Gökçe (Chief of Executive of Kalite Sistem Laboratories Group) informed the partners about project budget.
Main results of kick-off meeting are determination of training modules and selection of work package leaders.
- F4ST will last 90 hours and consist of 9 modules, chapters and lessons respectively.
The curriculum of F4ST will be
- Work Package (WP) leaders were selected.
Each work package leader is responsible
- To be a member of executive board and attend the monthly meetings
- To manage and sustain the project quality and policies in accordance with that were determined by the Executive Board.
- To ensure the coordination of the work package within the context of quality approach; planning, implementation and sustainability
- To ask for each partner to prepare a monthly work plan or schedule about the implementation of work packages appointed to himself or herself in accordance with the predetermined tasks and time of related work package.
- To check, in communication with the auditing partner, whether the work package meets the determined targets in terms of the performance criteria
- To give suggestions to work package members for re-organization of their activities according to comments of auditing partner
Training modules were determined based on the gaps for each profession working in food safety area. After the completion of Work Package (WP) 3 (Background analysis of food safety training –identification of current training needs and new qualification needs), the chapters and lessons will be determined in detail.
