Hotel and Restaurant Training Centre was established in 1997. Its main office and premises for the practical training and seminars are located in Riga. It was social organization until 2001. It became private enterprise in 2001, and was accredited school in 2004. It has been member of Hotel and Restaurant since 1997 and a member of Latvian Cooks A since 2001. HRTC trains 2000-3000 staff per year. HRTC organizes training for the specialists of food enterprises, hotel, and restaurant on different subject, including HACCP, sanitation, and hygiene. The training methods of HRTC include life long learning, distance programs, qualification upgrading courses, practical seminars with demonstrations and thematic seminars for 1-5 days. HRTC partners are the Latvia universities, enterprises, and associations. There is a close collaboration with the Latvia Agriculture University Food Technology Faculty. University professors train the staff of Hotels and restaurants in HRTC. HRTC co-operates also with Latvia Foods and Management of the Veterinary Department, which controls and supervisors food circulating processes in Latvia. HRTC has been promoting Leonardo da Vinci pilot project entitled with Resto Cooking Permit (2003-2005) for two years.
HRTC will assist to F4ST by providing the needed data and by promoting the proposed project and its results to the wider public and to use the results of the project. It will not claim financial support from EU.
