Aims
  • To provide official structure for food safety in the partner country
  • To obtain the contact database of the national bodies, vocational schools, professional institutions, educational institutions and enterprises related with food safety. This information will be transferred to project web page.
  • To examine the curricula of approximately 5 representative universities, certification programs, vocational schools.
  • To determine the background and education of vocational groups as food safety experts and food safety controllers
  • To obtain current need for F4ST
  • To give the clear work definition of food safety education graduates in their country
  • To determine the training needs and new qualification needs
  • To constitute a common curriculum for F4ST
  • To prepare the outline for related WP4 modules and their chapters

The role and the tasks of each partner involved

  • All partners will be involved in this work package in order to determine the background and current food safety specialist education as well as training needs and new qualification needs.
  • Before all else, determination of the reporting format of the research will be made by coordinator and WP3 leader
  • All partners will provide information according to WP3 report format
  • All partner country teams will obtain the contact database of the national bodies, vocational schools, professional institutions, educational institutions and enterprises related with food safety. This information will be transferred to project web page.
  • The partners are requested to give the clear work definition of food safety education graduates in their country
  • The definition should be supported with the curriculum of the related courses in university and certificate programs in WP3 report format
  • All reports are to be prepared in English.
  • The coordinator P1 (KSML-TR) will also ask for the comments and advices of the authorities of silent partner (P7, P9) will require a report on this issue.
  • After the coordinator and WP3 leader combines and collates the each partner’s WP3 report, they will prepare a final report which includes all the information, taken from each partner, and statistical evaluation.
  • P1 partner will present this final report in an international meeting
  • Once the web site is prepared, the technical partner shall publish this in the web site.

Work package Leader will prepare a final WP3 report which includes the summary and evaluation of all partners’ WP3 reports with coordinator and submit it to the auditing partner P8 GGD-TR. Auditing partner will send his comments, suggestions and evaluations about the report to Project General Coordinator and F4ST Project Manager.

Working Methods and Techniques
Each partner conveys the research in her own country. The partners establish a common database reporting format for data provision. Researchers from each partner will spend 1 day in a week for this study.

This study will form
  • Vocational groups appointed as food safety experts, auditors, inspectors and consultant
  • The number of enterprises in food safety area
  • Contact database of governmental, universities, NGO’s, private sector in food safety
  • Background analysis of Food Safety training in partner country
  • Need for F4ST in partner country; comparison the curricula of F4ST in accordance with WP3 report format
  • Discussion of the employment opportunities of F4ST graduates with their job definition in partner country

Following the acquisition of these data, a SWOT analysis is made and the results are evaluated with statistical techniques.

Expected results
  • Status determination report in terms of partner countries on in the context of food safety education
  • The common resource database in constituting the necessary training contents
  • Food Safety Specialist employment report
